How to clean my yoga mat

How often?
As a general rule of thumb, aim to clean your yoga mat at least once a month if you only practice a couple of times a week. However, if you practice yoga every day, aim to clean your mat more often, perhaps once a week or more.
Make your own cleaning solution
What you’ll need:
A spray bottle
White vinegar
Water
A few drops of an essential oil such as tea tree oil or lavender or eucalyptus
Directions for cleaning spray:
Eucalyptus and tea tree oil both have antibacterial and antiviral properties.
Vinegar helps to lift any dirt and grime.
How to clean:
For a deeper clean:
To give your mat a deeper clean you can use a mix of warm water and a small amount of liquid soap (2 - 3 drops is plenty). Use a cloth to gently clean using circular motion and allow to dry completely before rolling up. Avoid rubbing the mat too hard as this may damage the mat.
Yoga mats vary in design and materials so it is always best to spot text an area first.
