December Updates

As we come to the end of 2022 I would like to take a few moments to wish you a very happy and peaceful Christmas. May the holiday season be filled with Joy, Love & many blessing for you and your loved ones.

The Christmas holidays can be a time of great excitement and joy but also a time of stress and anxiety. This Christmas I truly hope you allow yourself the gift of time for yourself with some well deserved peace and quiet. Take a few moments to slow down, come back to centre and breathe! Here are a few stress reducing suggestions to try out during the festive season:

A short time out practice: Equal Breath

  • Find a comfortable place to sit quietly
  • Notice the inhale and exhale of your breath
  • Connect to your heart centre
  • Then inhale slowly for a count of 4...
  • Exhale slowly for a count of 4...
  • Continue for a few rounds until you feel calmer and more relaxed
  • Let go of the equal breath
  • Allow the breath go at it's own rhythm
  • Smile on the inside - inner smile!
  • Sit quietly for a few moments before resuming activity

The 3 Step Daily Mindful Check In

  • Alignment - root in, lengthen the spine, relax shoulders/jaw
  • Breath - check in with your breath for a few moments - Inhale.... Exhale...
  • Gratitude - Pick one thing you are truly grateful and thankful for: 'I am truly grateful & thankful for.....'

Repeat throughout the day as often as you wish.

End of Year Reflection:

Over the coming weeks take a little time to reflect on all that was 2022 for you. Acknowledge the good and the not so good parts and recognise where you may need to let go of anything that no longer serves you for 2023. Remember to have the awareness with non judgment.

I find this practice is a great way to clear out the old and make way for new beginnings. It works particularly well if you write it all down with pen and paper, then finish the practice by writing out your intentions for the months ahead. Make it powerful and bright for 2023! Infinite possibilities!

Keep moving....

Remember to move and meditate daily. Just a few minutes in nature or a quiet space at home can make all the difference. If you remember a few postures from yoga or chi kung from our classes then you can incorporate them too. It all helps!
